San Casciano dei Bagni is a borderland territory situated between Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Its 92-km2 territory stretches between Val d’Orcia, Val di Chiana and up to Val di Paglia. It occupies the slice of land separating Chiana River from Orcia River and Paglia River. For a period of its history, San Casciano dei Bagni grew prosperous thanks to its location at the dividing line between Rome’s territory and northern Italy. Travellers crossing the peninsula could enjoy a nice stop with a pleasant bath in our thermal waters. Two lakes and a mountain delimit our horizon: Bolsena Lake to the south, Trasimeno Lake to the west and Monte Cetona to the north.
The charming villages with their own history and deep identity are the beating heart of this land.
